After Donegal came from seven points behind to beat Derry last week in Ballyshannon, you’d have expected Jim McGuinness to be thrilled with another win. Jim though, never does what we expect, which is another reason why there is such an aura around the man.

There wasn’t a whole lot of intrigue or drama in what he said but McGuinness is such an authority that everyone’s ears cock up when he has something to say. Jim did make an impassioned defence of the league but he still made it clear that he couldn’t guarantee that it would be in the best interests of his team to go all out to win the competition outright.
