Cork claimed back-to-back victories following a comprehensive second half display against Kildare which saw them transform a one-point half time deficit into a seven-point advantage before the game petered out for a relatively comfortable win.

Football is a game of fine margins which were highlighted massively in the past two games as Cork left a game behind them in Páirc Uí Chaoimh two weeks ago against Cavan before Maurice Shanley’s injury time goal spared a crucial comeback victory against Fermanagh in Ederney. Survival is by no means a certainty yet, but Cork will certainly have some momentum before the final two rounds of fixtures.
