Griffith College – Where heritage meets a future-focused education

Griffith College Cork, a key part of the institution’s national footprint, is situated on a 5.3-acre campus on Wellington Road — just minutes from the city centre.
Founded in 1974, Griffith College celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024 as one of the country’s leading independent higher education institutions.
This milestone year also marked the successful completion of the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) CINNTE institutional review, which recognised the college’s unwavering commitment to quality assurance, educational innovation and the holistic development of its students.
Griffith College has grown to serve over 8,000 students from more than 125 countries. It has a network of nearly 45,000 alumni who make significant contributions globally across diverse sectors.
As Ireland’s largest private higher education provider, it offers a broad range of internationally recognised undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes across its campuses in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
It actively collaborates with both national and international institutions and organisations to expand its global presence, foster academic partnerships and enhance the student experience.
It is committed to the principles of inclusion and diversity through the Erasmus+ programme.
Additionally, it is proud to be Ireland’s only independent institution involved in the EU Universities Initiative through the Diverse University Alliance.

Griffith College Cork, a key part of the institution’s national footprint, is situated on a 5.3-acre campus on Wellington Road — just minutes from the city centre.
The site, acquired in 2016, was formerly home to St. Patrick’s Hospital and Marymount Hospice.
Its late 19th - and early 20th-century buildings have been carefully restored to support modern academic delivery, creating a campus where tradition meets innovation.
Among its architectural highlights is the Isabella Honan Chapel. Built in 1908, the deconsecrated chapel now serves as a space for graduation ceremonies, concerts and public events such as the Candlelight Concert Series.
It exemplifies Griffith’s dedication to preserving the past while investing in the future.

Griffith College Cork offers QQI-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at NFQ Levels 7, 8 and 9, that reflect the key sectors driving Cork’s economy.
