From flowers to fashion, the rules are changing for every aspect of weddings in the year ahead
The biggest wedding trends of 2026

While many trends come and go in the blink of an eye, particularly when it comes to weddings, increasingly more couples are choosing to only invest in the ones that will last

Glamoratti

Netflix smash hit Stranger Things may be over, but the nostalgia it inspired for all things 80s is very much here to stay.

Featuring prominently in Pinterest's official list of predictions for what’s set to be trending across the app in 2026, ‘Glamoratti’ marks the return of all your favourite 80s trends!

Get ready to embrace the maximalist aesthetic with shoulder pads, high collars and funnel necks as well as plenty of chunky, fun accessories to boot.

For ways to incorporate the Glamoratti look into your own bridal style, look no further than the Alanna dress by Wona Couture.

With its strong, structured shoulders, elegant high neckline and decadent embroidered lace design, this one ticks all the boxes.

Tassels

This trend has already made a significant impact in 2025, with tasselled pieces taking centre stage in the recent runway collections of Fendi, Michael Kors, and Chanel, but it’s set to dominate even further in 2026.

According to Who What Wear, this year will see extra-long tassels come into play, particularly when it comes to jewellery, with statement tasselled earrings and lariat necklaces set to surge in popularity.

There are plenty of fun ways to incorporate the trend into your 2026 wedding.

Why not get creative with stationery and create unique tasselled invitations or even menus that you’ll treasure forever?

You can also add an extra special touch to the seating arrangements with some tassel chair decorations.

Monochrome

Since 1999, the Pantone Colour Institute has chosen the world’s official ‘Colour of the Year’.

Despite this lofty task, however, you’d be forgiven for having never heard of the company before – until this year, that is. Last month, Pantone made headlines worldwide when it revealed its 2026 Colour of the Year was… no colour at all.

Cloud Dancer, the design experts’ designated hue for the year ahead, is a 'billowy white' that’s been deemed a boring, blank canvas of a choice by many critics.

Love it or hate it, however, the all-white look is already making its mark, with celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence wearing Cloud Dancer inspired pieces on the red carpet.

While traditional white dresses may be nothing new in bridal fashion, the trend is also having a knock-on effect for grooms.

You can expect to see less colourful or even tan suits from 2026 grooms, with the simple black and white look now officially restored to the height of fashion.

Classic, traditional suits such as the Tailored Fit Black Twill Dress Suit from Moss menswear (retailing at €389 for the jacket and €210 for the trousers) have never been a safer bet for grooms-to-be.

Dried flowers

While many trends come and go in the blink of an eye, particularly when it comes to weddings, increasingly more couples are choosing to only invest in the ones that will last.

If you’re looking for something that will wow your guests, last as a keepsake from the big day for years to come and is eco-friendly as can be, then it’s type to get behind the dried flowers hype!

You can create bright, beautiful bouquets that are every bit as stunning as fresh-cut flowers, but involve far less stress.

There’s no risk of them wilting. You can get your first floral arrangements shipped or delivered at your convenience – meaning there’s one less thing to worry about getting to the venue on the big day itself.

If you’re on a tight budget or just looking to customise your floral arrangements to your exact preferences and get creative, then there’s always the option to dry your own flowers, or to fashion pre-bought dried flowers into wreaths and whatever else you desire.

As the trend continues to boom, so too does the amount of online resources and video guides teaching you how to get the perfect dried flowers the DIY way.

Swelling soundtracks

With an eagerly awaited new season of Bridgerton finally being released on Netflix this month, one thing’s for sure – we’ll all be adding the new songs from the show straight to our Spotify playlists!

The show is as well known for its great use of music as it is for its raunchy scenes and fabulous costumes.

In the past, classical string covers of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ have gone viral after featuring in the show.
