Skibbereen Flower and Garden Club is holding a talk this coming week on grafting apple trees and early spring work in the garden.

  • Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, February 9, in Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre at 7.30pm. Bridie and Charlie Terry will give a talk on bees entitled “Hive to Table”. Visitors welcome. Admission €5.
  • Clonakilty Flower Club will meet on Tuesday, February 10, at 8pm, at GAA Complex, Ahamilla, Clonakilty. The speaker is Mark Lee from Skibbereen Garden Centre. All welcome.
  • Skibbereen Flower and Garden Club is holding a talk on grafting apple trees and early spring work in the garden with Paul McCormack in Abbeystrewery Hall, Skibbereen, on Wednesday, February 11, at 8.15pm.
  • Youghal Flower and Garden Club will mark its 45th anniversary with an event on Wednesday, February 11, at 6.30pm in the Walter Raleigh Hotel. More details to follow.
  • Macroom Flower & Garden Club AGM takes place on Thursday, February 12, at 7pm at Coolcower House, Macroom, followed by a talk and presentation by Majella O’Riordan, registered herbalist, at 8pm. Members only. Annual membership accepted on the night. Further details on 087-9821708
  • Aaron Clifford, garden designer, Carewswood Landscape Design, gives a talk to Ladysbridge & District Flower & Garden Club at 8pm, Monday, February 16, at the Garryvoe Hotel.
  • Mallow Flower & Garden Club meets on Tuesday, February 17, at Mallow College of Further Education at 7.30pm. The guest speaker is Raymond Higgins from the National Vegetable Society (NVS) Ireland. Visitors welcome.
  • Conna & District Flower & Garden Club celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, beginning the celebrations with a dinner at Clancy’s Bar & Restaurant Youghal, on Wednesday, February 18, at 7pm sharp. Members only.
  • Owenabue Garden and Flower Club, Carrigaline, marks its 50th anniversary with a celebratory, five-course lunch, featuring a floral demonstration by Lorraine O’Brien, AOIFA, on Saturday, February 28, in the Carrigaline Court Hotel from 10.30am.   • Tralee Flower and Garden Club will hold an event on March 10, at 7.30pm in the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee. It will include a garden talk. New members and visitors welcome, €10.
