1. Don’t put your milk on the door shelf. This is generally the warmest part of the cabinet, and with any direct light hitting it, it could struggle to maintain even the expected temperature. Don’t put the cartons on their side, as the extra surface area can also spoil milk faster.

2. Fridges work better when not overloaded to allow air to circulate. Feel free to pack your freezer more tightly. Keep in mind that logical, highly visible placements in the fridge will prevent food waste, where items get forgotten or lost in the crowd.
