The mobile home is a staple of Irish summer holidays. Some of my earliest memories are of running around with a gaggle of other seven-year-olds in a holiday park in Liscannor while our parents drank oaky Chardonnay on DIY patios and hooked up gas bottles to cook dinner (the '90s were loose). 

I remember being allowed to stay up late for the Eurovision and seeing Riverdance for the first time on a small grainy TV, sprawled out on our mobile’s built-in couch.
