Ballykealey House in Carlow host the 12th annual Snowdrop Gala and Other Spring Treasures.

• The Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society hosts a lecture on Thursday, January 18, at 8pm by Ben Pope, head gardener at a private estate in West Sussex. UK. The lecture is titled "Containing The Unconventional". It focuses on the joys of container gardening and what can be achieved with a little imagination and inspiration. Planting schemes, mood boards, texture, colour and unusual containers feature. The venue is Northridge House, St Luke's, Castle Road, Mahon, T12H9070, Cork. All welcome Visitors €10.
• The 12th annual Snowdrop Gala and Other Spring Treasures 2024 takes place on Saturday, January 27, at Ballykealey House, Ballon, Co Carlow, R93A9K1. The speakers are Steve Edney, former head gardener at The Salutation and Canterbury Cathedral and the owner of No Name Nursery, and Michael Dreisvogt, director of Park Härle Arboretum in Bonn, Germany.
