Garden Digest: Events to help you enjoy your green spaces

• Kanturk Flower and Garden Club will host a floral workshop night on Wednesday, May 3, in The Temperance Hall (next to Alley Bar), Strand Street, at 8pm. The workshop will be held in conjunction with Kanturk Arts Festival. Guest floral demonstrator Chris Bailey will demonstrate two simple arrangements. Everyone is welcome to take part or simply watch, only €5. Refreshments will be served and details of the annual outing in June will also be announced. Names and deposits will be taken on the night.
• Clonakilty Flower Club will host its annual charity gala night on Monday, May 8, at 8pm in the GAA pavilion in Ahamilla. Featuring Paula Dowling from AOIFA, the event’s proceeds are in aid of AsIAm (AOIFA national charity) and local charity Cancer Connect. There will be a sales table and refreshments. Admission €20.
• Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its next meeting in Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre on Monday, May 8, at 7pm. It will be a Teaching Night - Imposed Class. Just bring your secateurs. There will be a short demonstration by two club members.
