Pictured here is the Bali laundry basket, €85, Water Lily guest towel, €5, and Water Lily hand towel, €10. A nice touch for a guest bedroom over the visiting period.

Let’s enter the realm of real wishing now, with this Modern Grand Tour black feather lamp, for the aspirational sum of €5,779. Isn’t it divine though? Available from Arnotts, www.arnotts.ie.

Currently running at the Puffin Cafe on West Cork’s Long Strand beach is an exhibition worth visiting. Sea Light is a photo collection by surfer, Jason Coniry. Having spent most of his life on or in the water, Jason’s work explores and celebrates the ocean.

“This work ranges from subtle moments inspired by nature to documenting world champion surfer Mick Fanning at the Cliffs of Moher. My ambition is to motivate others to get out and enjoy the elements, to dip into the energy that abounds on our coastline,” says Jason.

For more information and prices, see Facebook ‘Jason Coniry’ or Instagram @jasonconiry. Or get the winter woolies on and go see it for yourself. Wetsuits optional.

Every year Dulux brings together a group of experts and trend watchers to discuss the major developments in the coming year.

Listen up — for 2017, the colour to have will be Denim Drift, a beautiful and versatile grey-blue that takes on a different characteristic depending on how it’s used. See www.dulux.ie. www.facebook.com/Duluxireland for more info — but I can tell you Dulux matt emulsion paint retails at €64.99 for 5 litres.

Add a bit of whimsy to proceedings with this Roald Dahl ‘Charlie & the Chocolate Factory’ printed cushion. Available from Tales for Tadpoles on Dublin’s Drury street for €34.95. www.talesfortadpoles.ie

With copper a key trend this winter, think about using it to add some warm sparkle throughout the home. I love this versatile Moroccan-inspired hammered copper bowl.

It would be great in the kitchen for storing snacks, or for grouping small things in the bathroom. Or go mad and put a plant in it. Sold in sets of four, for €39, the size is 12cmx5cm, available from Irish company, www.home-lust.com.

I adore the colour of this Avoca PIP quilted cushion. The detail on it is very cute too. It’s 40cmx40cm and costs €37.90. www.avoca.com
