Ballymartle ICA presents a special Christmas flower demonstration entitled ‘The Magic of Christmas’ by Breda Keohane in Riverstick Community Hall on Wednesday December 10 at 8pm. Admission €6, tea and home baking will be served and all very welcome.
Macroom Flower & Garden Club’s Ruby 40th Anniversary Dinner will be held at The Castle Hotel, Macroom on Friday December 5. A special Mass will be celebrated in the hotel at 6.30p.m followed by reception and dinner. A mini floral demonstration by surprise guests included. Tickets €40 purchased in advance. Coachford Flower and Garden Club are hosting a “Christmas Floral Demonstration” by Denis O’Donovan on Wednesday December 10 in Breathnach’s Courtyard Café.
Bantry Flower & Garden Club’s next meeting is on December l at theWestlodge Hotel at 8pm. “Christmas Greetings” flower demonstration by Eileen O’Brien of Kinsale. Visitors are most welcome.
Youghal Flower & Garden Club will host a Christmas Demonstration by Beatrice Hartog AOIFA on Wednesday, December 3 at 8pm in the Walter Raleigh Hotel. Club competitions on the night. Everybody welcome.
Clonakilty Flower Club will host its festive Christmas Demonstration on Monday, December 1 in Fernhill House at 8pm. A demonstration will be given by Margaret Aherne AOIFA entitled: “Festive Cheer”. There will be the usual club competitions, a raffle, light refreshments, and the odd surprise. All are welcome.
Cork Garden Club will present a talk by Charlie Wilkins entitled: “More of the same” on December 11in Ashton School at 8 pm.
The December Killavullen Farmers’ Markets will take place on Saturday December 6 and 13 from 10.30am-1pm and on Saturday December 20 from 6.30pm-8pm Killavullen. The market which represents some of the best local food producers in the region, is ideal for all the family and has a wide variety of stall holders with fresh organic produce, knits and crochet, jewellery, natural soaps and organic essential oils, environmentally friendly cleaning products, Irish made skin and body care products, a charity bookstall and fair trade products. The market has over 18 regular stall holders and additional guest stall holders so visitors will be able to source everything they need for the festive season. The Irish Wildlife Trust Cork Branch is asking for help in developing a directory of wildlife rehabilitators in Cork and adjacent counties. They are working with Lynette Lewis who is a point of contact with Irish Wildlife Matters which is an organisation dedicated to help injured wildlife ( http://www.irishwildlifematters.ie ). If anyone is currently taking in injured wildlife for rehabilitation or wishes to offer the service, then the IWT Cork Branch and Irish Wildlife Matters would like to hear from them.
