Wish list: Mounted prints
Sarah O’Callaghan was constantly searching for elegant baby gifts for friends — so she created a baby print for a member of the family and it proved so popular, Papier Prints was born. Up and running since August this year, Sarah likes to create stylish, modern and typographically bold, new baby prints. Mounted prints start at €25 and framed personalised prints are from €50; www.papierprints.com

Oh, how I wish I was brave enough to paint my bedroom this colour. Maybe next year... Anyway, It’s the bed we’re supposed to be looking at here, the Hemnes from Ikea, €225. It’s quite a traditional bed, actually, but it’s all the little bits that Ikea style it with that give it a modern theme. It’s mostly solid wood and there’s a whole series to team it up with. www.ikea.com/ie/en/

Have a gander at these glorious Gio Ponti armchairs, circa.1955, which were sold recently by Phillip’s Auction House, London. These are an example of Carol Bellamy’s vision of design-led interiors. She focuses on 20th century design, from art nouveau and art deco to modernism and contemporary. Carol is based in Ireland but also works on overseas projects. www.carolbellamycollections.com / cb@carolbellamycollections.com

Dunnes Stores have this fetchingly festive raspberry apron, €22, from the new Helen James Considered collection. Made from linen, this apron features contrast straps, a large front pocket — always handy — and a sweet piece of text at the bottom — ‘The best things in life are meant to be shared’.

Established in 1971, Anvil Home is an Irish family-owned and operated retail store based in Bray, Co Wicklow, and their online offering is very good too. I love this handpainted ceramic tile from A Day at The Beach collection — something to remember the fab summer by. It comes with a backing that can be hung or an easel to stand it on and the size is 6” x 16”. €27.95 from www.anvil.ie
