¦ Conna and District Flower Club present, ‘Dine with Friends’ at the Old Imperial Hotel, Youghal, on February 19 at 7.30pm. Book your place on this great night of food and chat.

¦ Castlelyons Home and Garden Club’s first meeting of the year takes place on Thursday, February 20, at 8.00pm in Castlelyons Community Centre. The topic is: “Be Positive, Stay Healthy” by Jacqueline O’Farrell.

¦ Sunday’s Well Flower & Garden Club will hold its AGM on Wednesday, February 19, at 8 pm in St Vincent’s Parish Centre.

¦ Bandon Flower Club present a demonstration by Margot Allen AOIFA in The Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon on Monday, February 17, at 8 pm. Visitors and new members most welcome.

¦ Ladysbridge and District Flower and Garden Club will meet on Monday, February 17, at 8pm in Garryvoe Hotel. Noranne Scott will speak on Garden Design. All welcome.

¦ The next meeting of the Owenabue Garden and Flower, Carrigaline, will take place in St Mary’s C of I School Hall, on Monday, Feb 24, at 8pm.

¦ Cobh Flower Club will run a stall at the Car Boot Sale in Great Island Community Centre in Cobh on Sunday, February 16. They want to build a nest egg to help finance a flower festival which will be held later this year in St Colman’s Cathedral.

¦ Castlelyons Home and Garden Club are seeking new members to join their existing group. The club generally meets from February to November and its first meeting of the year is on February 20 at 8 pm in Castlelyons Community Centre. Speaker is Jacqueline O’Farrell. Grove House, Shanballymore.

¦ ‘Love Your Land’ is at The Secret Garden in Newmarket tomorrow from 3- 5pm. This is a fun, social event for all the family and guest speakers include organic farmers, bee-keepers, a homeopathic vet, and wildlife rescue group, Animal Magic will be there with some birds of prey. There’ll be information on native hedgerows, hunting, land rights and how you can do your bit for the future. The event is free but there’ll be a collection for Animal Magic.
