Mountains of marrows

EVERYWHERE I turn I am met with stressed-out gardeners overcome by the stream of gigantic marrows.

Mountains of marrows

They just keep appearing beneath the leafy foliage of this prolific producing plant and no matter how many courgettes are picked, one or two seem to escape and turn into a whopping marrow.

Fret not, as marrows have their uses, will store well and can be baked or stuffed with a host of savoury ingredients to serve an army of people. They are best eaten when baked and, whatever you do, avoid steaming or cooking marrows in water.
