Winning combination

I ADORE visiting Wisley garden in Surrey and get there as often as I can which, unfortunately, isn’t half enough.

Winning combination

I studied just a few miles down the road from the RHS Headquarters and used to wander around this garden most weekends.

On a visit several years ago I noticed that they had planted Agastache in many of their summer beds. I had never really paid much attention to this genus before but later that year I planted a bed of Agastache ‘Blue Fortune’ mixed with Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’. I discovered to my absolute delight that I had hit on a winning combination in so many ways. The two varieties look superb together, but what really makes this planting special is the amount of bees and butterflies it attracts.
