Garden should reflect you

WHEN planning your garden it can be helpful to set a theme or themes.

Garden should reflect you

As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, your garden is where you can be yourself and should reflect the type of person that you are. With that in mind maybe you want to have a very formal garden or maybe you are a more casual and informal person. Again, there is no right and wrong.

What can work very well in a garden is a mixture of themes and ‘garden rooms’ if your space allows. Picture a formal walkway with clipped Box or Yew hedges leading to informal plantings of herbaceous and evergreen perennials. This could then lead on to an area of fruit and vegetable growing. Each area could be informal with the paths and spaces dividing them being formal in style.
