Back in mid-February it felt as if spring stepped out of winter for a day, only to retreat into what seems like our year-long winter. But perhaps we can make the eternal chill glorious by bringing our notions of summer, and the life we’d normally have in the garden, into our homes. The way things are going it may be the only taste of summer we’ll see this year.
It’s in our nature to crave a change in the seasons, from the burning heat of summer to the mild relief of autumn and onto the freezing chill of winter. That’s if we could actually distinguish between the seasons on this soggy little island, so instead we have to create the idea ourselves.
