IT’S that time of year again when the garden seems to be awakening from its winter slumber with signs of new growth marking the beginning of a new year.

Snowdrops and crocuses can be seen peeping through the soil and new buds are beginning to appear on trees and shrubs.

The nice fat buds on the camellia shrub fills one with a sense of anticipation of seeing these same buds turn into spectacular rose-like flowers over the coming weeks.
