AS AUGUST comes to a close, nights are gradually drawing in and crops are beginning to come to the end of their season.

After a summer of feasting on freshly picked vitamin-rich delights, it’s time to start thinking of leaner times ahead and converting some of that surplus into stores for the winter months.
