Dunnes Stores outlines plans to expand Patrick Street restaurant 

Plans also lodged to upgrade popular Cork City service station

Dunnes Stores is seeking permission to expand its restaurant on the third floor of its Patrick Street store.

Better Value Unlimited Company has lodged plans with Cork City Council for a change of use of its external terrace on the third floor of its building on 105-107 Saint Patrick’s Street from general amenity space to ancillary seating associated with its existing restaurant.

The plans also include an overhead, an extendable canopy and timber screening, along with associated site development works.

Cork City Council are due to decide on the plans by April 16, 2026.

Meanwhile, a popular service station in Cork City could see its premises upgraded under new plans lodged with the local council.

Drustan Ltd has sought planning permission to upgrade the South Link Service Station located on the South City Link Road.

The proposed development would see the removal of an existing car wash at the site, which would be replaced with a new, larger unit scheduled to operate on a 24-hour basis.

It would also see a broader reconfiguration of the forecourts and the relocation of the existing service area, bollards, and two car parking spaces.

The service station is also seeking to install a new drive-thru coffee dock kiosk next to the shop within the existing outdoor seating area.

The new unit’s floor area will measure just under 150 sq m, with the plans also including associated road markings to facilitate the drive-through coffee kiosk, together with all ancillary and site development works.

Cork City Council are due to decide on the plans by April 20, 2026.
