Meanwhile, a new housing development comprising nine new homes in Cork City has been appealed to the planning commission by a third party.
Darly Developments Limited received planning permission to demolish a home at 7, St Helens Court on Glasheen Road to make way for the construction of nine new houses.
The homes were to comprise five three-bedroom, two-storey houses and four four-bedroom, three-storey houses. Associated site works also included drainage, landscaping, boundary treatments, parking and revisions to existing vehicle and pedestrian access.
The plans have now been appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála by a local resident, who raised concerns about a loss of privacy as a result of the development, loss of sunlight, and ongoing issues with sewage services.
The planning commission is due to decide on the case by March 18, 2026.
