2 Tuckey St, Cork city
Charity St Vincent de Paul is selling its commercial premises at 2 Tuckey St, in an area of Cork City that has benefitted from significant public realm transformation.
The three-storey, midterrace, 3,700sq ft (343sq m) building has a guide price of €650,000 and includes a reception area, offices, and meeting rooms. The charity is moving to another city location better suited to its longterm needs.
The premises is in good condition, and selling agent Cearbhall Behan of BIG Property expects “strong interest” from developers, owner-occupiers, and investors.
He described it as “an excellent investment opportunity”. The premises is on a street that links Grand Parade to South Main St, where Cork City Council has invested heavily in public realm, including a €7m overhaul of Bishop Lucey Park, while also securing the future of the former Beamish Counting House which it acquired in a €35m deal earlier this year, via the same agent.

The Counting House is earmarked to become the new city library, which will free up considerable real estate on Grand Parade, leaving the current library site to be redeveloped down the line.

No 2 has an interesting history. It was previously an RIC barracks, before being attacked and burned in June 2021. It was then re-built to temporarily house Cork’s public library from 1924 to 1930, which had also been destroyed at the time.
