Global commercial property firm Knight Frank, which opened a Cork office earlier this year, has added significant firepower to its operation with the appointment of two high-calibre commercial property professionals.

The appointment of Margaret Kelleher and Edward Hanafin as directors signals the firm’s intent to build significant momentum across the Munster region.

The pair have decades of commercial property experience spanning agency, professional services, valuations, landlord and tenant consultancy, acquisitions and development advisory.

Both are members of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland’s panel of arbitrators and independent experts, with Ms Kelleher also a Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, while Mr Hanafin is an RICS registered valuer.

Ms Kelleher and Mr Hanafin join David McCarthy, director and head of the Cork office, along with the existing Cork team.

Mr McCarthy said their experience and market knowledge “will be a tremendous asset to our Cork business”.

"Their appointments reflect our continued investment in the region and our ambition to grow our presence across Ireland while combining deep local expertise with the strength of Knight Frank's global network. This enables us to provide clients with market-leading advice, backed by international reach and specialist sector expertise," Mr McCarthy said.

Ms Kelleher said she was delighted to be joining the team "at an exciting time in its growth" while Mr Hanafin said it was an "exciting opportunity" at a time when Cork "continues to evolve as one of Ireland's most dynamic commercial property markets"

The pair most recently served as Directors at Cohalan Downing.

Prior to that, both spent more than 30 years leading Lisney’s Cork office, where Ms Kelleher also served as chair.
