With a quiet and lofty setting, you can truly hit the heights at Marianville, writes Tommy Barker.

YOU sort of feel you have Cork city at your feet, in an exalted, and elevated, setting like Marianville’s.

The mid 1900s-built detached home is in a super-quiet setting at Bellvue Park, off Military Hill at St Luke’s Cross, with its country lane-like access road shared with eight or nine other homes, directly opposite the upgraded Ambassador Hotel.

There’s a long garden and path up from the leafy lane to the front of the c1,400sq ft, older style home, which is for sale with a €440,000 price tag quoted by agent Robert O’Keeffe of Irish & European.

There’s a lock-up garage by the property’s entrance on the lane, and that little-trafficked access road has a pedestrian link at its city end to the house above at Shrewsbury Villas and the rest of Bellvue Park.
