Active bidding on owner-occupied 6 Ronayns Court in Rochestown
Snow may have caused the cancellation of an open viewing scheduled for 6 Ronayns Court, Rochestown, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of buyers in acquiring the two-bed apartment.
Even before the rescheduled open viewing being held on Thursday this week, Lawrence Sweeney of Savills said there was active bidding on the second floor 692 sq ft apartment which is guiding at €210,000.
“It’s in very good condition, is fully furnished and ready to go,’’ he says adding that it is getting a lot of attention from investors whose interest is increased by the fact that this an owner-occupied property which has never been rented before and doesn’t have a rent cap.
The Rochestown address, and its proximity to Douglas, makes it very popular with renters and investors, he adds.
But Mr Sweeney is also getting interest and taking bids from trading down buyers in the area who like the idea that this is a manageable property with water views in a secure gated development.
Built in 2000, the apartment has a carpeted living dining room at the rear with a fire effect heater, views of Lough Mahon and a door opening out on to a 72 sq ft balcony which overlooks the communal gardens.
There’s a small kitchen with fitted units and appliances, a bathroom and two laminate floored bedrooms including one en suite.
Ronayns Court development is located three kilometres from Douglas village and five from Passage West.
“It’s close to the Blackrock to Passage West walkway which is popular with walkers and joggers,’’ says Mr Sweeney adding that there’s also a supermarket nearby.
