A cracker of a renovated home in Mount Oval Village

Trish Dromey profiles a property that’s benefited from considerable care and attention by its current owners

A cracker of a renovated home in Mount Oval Village

Beautifully renovated by owners who have had it less than a year and tastefully decorated for Christmas, 11 Granary Hall in Mount Oval Village is set for one more open viewing this week.

Glenn O’Connor of DNG Creedon scheduled two last week, believing that this two-bed mid-terraced house has sufficient attractions to get attention, even if it is almost Christmas. “It’s like a showhouse — the owners have put in new flooring, a new high gloss kitchen, new bedroom wardrobes and redecorated from top to bottom,’’ says Mr O’Connor, quoting a guide of €275,000.

The proud owners, who have decorated in various shades of cream and added cream and gold baubles to the Christmas tree, are taking the opportunity to trade up for something larger. This comes about despite the fact they have obviously spent time on money on a house which the Property Price Register shows as having sold for €229,500 in May. Offering 750sq ft of living space, the property has a kitchen at the front with new high gloss units with tiled flooring as well as a living room with a cream fireplace fitted with an electric stove, new laminate flooring and a chandelier.

The hallway has been retiled, the stairs recarpeted and both bedrooms have new laminate flooring and one of them, new mirrored sliderobes. There’s also an upstairs bathroom.

Built in 2002, the house has one designated car space and a garden with a graveled area, beds and a patio at the rear.

VERDICT: A cracker for Christmas
