Regency Hotel to get upgrade and new name after gangland shooting

A hotel in Dublin at the centre of a gangland attack that shocked the nation in 2016, is rebranding after a major upgrade.

The McGettigan Group — which owns one of Cork’s best-known hotels as well as a range of hotels and bars in Ireland and abroad — is upgrading The Regency Hotel in North Dublin to reflect its signature brand in Dubai.

The McGettigan family, who also own the Ambassador Hotel on Military Hill in Cork announced a major upgrade of the north Dublin landmark hotel, which was the scene of an infamous murder in February last year.
