€1.6m upgrade at Bishopstown’s Leisureworld

ONE of Munster’s busiest sports facilities, LeisureWorld, in Cork’s Bishopstown, marks its 20th year anniversary with confirmation, via operators, LW Management, of a €1.6m upgrade.

LW Management was set up by Cork Hall in 1997 to manage Leisureworld, and has since also taken on LeisureWorld Churchfield, St. Peter’s Visitor Centre Cork, on North Main Street, the municipal Mahon Golf Course, the Gus Healy Pool, in Douglas, and the Sam Allen Sports Complex.

Leisureworld Bishopstown, by CIT, has a 25m pool, 18m pool, children’s pool, ‘changing village,’ sauna and steam room, a large gym, a specialised gym for those with physical impairments, four AstroTurf pitches, three fitness studios, plus café.
