Suburban bar and off-licence listed for sale at €500,000

A Cork city suburban bar and off-licence, on a site of 0.3 of an acre, is up for sale in an evolving community, close to a new multi-million euro public library, a shopping centre with Super Valu, the progressive and highly-regarded Terence McSwiney Community College — and Apple’s European HQ, employing thousands.

Listed at €500,000 via Cohalan Downing Associates is the purpose-built Hollyhill Inn, which is licensed but currently not trading. It covers over 7,000 sq ft on an enclosed one-third of an acre site with parking and has a 4,300 sq ft bar, cellar and offices, plus 870 sq ft off-licence, on a corner site by Harbour View Road.

Agents Maurice Cohalan and Rob Coughlan of Cohalan Downing say the Hollyhill Inn “represents a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial licensed premises with an enclosed site for owner-occupation, and the property also offers superb development potential given its size, location and proximity to adjoining occupiers and services.”

The adjacent public library which opened last year after a €1.5m Government and a €2.5m City Hall investment was runner up in the 2016 RIAI Awards, and was designed by in-house City Council architects.
