Dingle peninsula property attracting a number of interested parties

Situated in the townland of Ardmore on the outskirts of Lispole on the Dingle Peninsula, a 47-acre farm seems to be ticking the right boxes for a number of interested parties.

The property is listed with Dingle-based auctioneer Mike Kennedy, who describes the land as good dry land.

ā€œIt’s bounded by two roads,ā€ says Mike. ā€œThere’s a cattle unit there also that measures 30 feet by 30, as well as a yard. It’s a fine piece of property.ā€

The extensive road frontage and proximity to Lispole village are strong advantages for a holding that is reasonably priced with an expectation of €6,000 per acre.

ā€œIt’s good arable land. It’s good grazing land too and you’d be able to cut silage off it as well.ā€

There is a good water and electricity supply and the access to the land is further enhanced by a central roadway that runs from the top public road down to the bottom one.

There are no entitlements going with this farm, which is adjacent to the primary school in Lispole village.

There are typically plenty of farmers in the area on the lookout for some of the rare good-quality blocks of land that come up on the famous Irish-speaking peninsula, which abounds with natural beauty and boasts some of the most famous landmarks associated with Ireland. These include the Connor Pass, Inch Strand and Dingle Bay with its famous resident dolphin Fungi.

The village of Lispole (or Lois Póil in the local vernacular) is small but scenic and punches above its weight, featuring as the birthplace of Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins and of famous cyclist Paudie Fitzgerald.

ā€œIt’s less than a kilometre from the village,ā€ says Mike of this piece of land that is about 8km east along a very straight stretch of the N86 from Dingle. ā€œThe interest has been quite good in it at the moment,ā€ he confirms. Given the location and quality, the expectation of €282,000 would not seem misplaced.
