No 2 Model village in Dripsey is almost new from the flooring up to attic insulation
SO MUCH work has been done to No 2 Model village in Dripsey that it’s almost like a new cottage.
That’s according to O’Mahony Properties who say the owners have done a huge amount of work on it in recent months.
“It has a new slate roof as well as new heating, double glazed windows, insulated slabs, kitchen units, bathroom fittings, flooring, and the attic has also been insulated,” says auctioneer Michael O’Mahony,
Guiding at €230,000, the semi-detached single storey property is one of 70 cottages built for the workers at Dripsey Woolen Mills in the 1900s which became known as the Model Village.
Accommodation in the newly spruced-up property includes a large kitchen/living room which has oak units with granite countertops and tiled flooring in the kitchen as well as a laminate-floored, living area with a raised ceiling, timber beams and a solid fuel stove.

Adjoining the kitchen there’s a utility room, while other accommodation includes a bathroom and three carpeted bedrooms, including one with an en suite.
The addition of oil fired central heating and a solid fuel stove has brought the BER rating up to a C2.
The cottage has a gravel parking area at the side and a garden with a new shed at the rear.
Mr O’Mahony says the cottage is centrally located in Dripsey village just 50 yards from the bus stop.
“It’s tastefully decorated and in turn-key condition. It would suit a first-time buyer or an older buyer looking for a single storey property,’’
Seems as if just about everything has been done.
