Trading up: Camden, Cork Harbour €250,000
A do-er upper called Stepfair could be seen as a secure coastal investment — it’s almost on the doorstep of Camden Fort, described as one of the best examples of a coastal artillery fort, and is now a much-appreciated visitor attraction by Crosshaven village.
Stepfair’s setting is also ‘defensive,’ up on high on the Camden Road, with commanding views (pictured) from its elevation over lower-set houses across the road to Cork harbour.
It’s that vista that viewers will be drawn to, as the existing compact dwelling needs a full make-over and extensions.
Currently boarded up, on a just-cleared raw but serviced site/grounds, it’s a two-bedroomed old fashioned bungalow cottage, and is for sale with estate agent Jeremy Murphy, who guides at €250,000, noting the keen demand for sites and detached Crosshaven homes with water views.
Scenically set, it’s within a short walk down to Crosshaven village, pier and marinas, and Carrigaline’s a short drive away.
Mr Murphy says he’s selling ‘as-is,’ offering the sizzle rather than the sausage as it’s all about the potential of the site as “a number of the neighbouring properties have been completely transformed to include a number of new builds.”
: A walk up and down Crosshaven’s Point Road and Camden Road will give plenty of design inspiration.
