Trading up: Frankfield, Douglas, Cork €369,000

It’s the one and only — no, not an Olympic winner, but the only four-bed home currently on offer in Cork’s Frankfield suburb, above Douglas.

Size: 119 sq m (1,280 sqft)

Bathrooms: 3

Bedrooms: 4

BER: C3

Right now, property listing websites show a remarkable six-only homes listed for sale in well-populated and popular Frankfield.

Three of them are apartments, and two are three-bed semis, priced at €230,000 and €300,000 apiece (a three-bed semi-d in Bellevue Close sold recently for €297,500, over its €280k asking price.)

Estate agent Barry Nagle of Global Properties has the only four-bed detached currently available in the Frankfield hinterland, and it’s number 20, Bellevue Court.

He guides the tidy home — with just under 1,300 sq ft and one en suite bedroom plus optional ground floor bed five/study — at €369,000.

He describes the area, which built up in the 1990s, as mature and well-established and serviced, with several supermarkets, close to a modern national school and there’s swift access to the Kinsale Road roundabout, business parks and the airport.

Detached No 20 is towards the end of a cul-de-sac, and internally has a hall, front sitting room facing a green, dining room with patio access, kitchen, utility, guest WC and study/bed five. Overhead, three of the four bedrooms are doubles and one’s en suite.

VERDICT: Right now, No 20’s the only detached home in the race, so give chase.
