Country cool with style in Glentane, Midleton
It’s the second time around for what’s billed as “a once in a lifetime opportunity” to get a modern, high-end country home with land for horses, and apples trees for the same animals to pilfer, at this east Cork spot called Glentane.
Built to an unstinting specification at the peak of the market around 2008 (the owners said they bought the abundance of Crema Marfil flooring, oak boards, and tile more by the tonne than by the square metre!), this long, wide and rangy bungalow home runs up to 4,000 sq ft, with any amount of above-standard finishes.
It was first put for sale last October at €525,000 and quickly went ‘sale agreed’ around this sum for its vendors who were headed back to the UK.
However, the sale fell through, and now the agents Collins O’Meara in Fermoy have it just relaunched for their disappointed vendors who did much of the design and detailing day one. As summer come to a close and schools return within weeks, they’ve dropped the asking price to €450,0000 and report early, renewed interest from a wide buying cohort.
