House building land with a lapsed planning for 65 homes has been placed on the market on the Cork side of Carrigaline, at the Ballea Road with a guide price of €1.6 million; it equates to €25,000 per site if a similar density application to build anew is successful.

Interest from small to medium scale builders hoping to get back in the business of house construction is expected, and appetites piqued by this offer and lot size.

A CIF conference earlier this month was told that Carrigaline was one of the more bankable locations for new homes construction in the greater Cork area, along with spots like Ballincollig and, likely now to come more to the fore, Ballyvolane.
