River views at sizeable seaside Youghal, Co Cork home

A BALCONY with views of the River Blackwater, a good address and generous sized accommodation were enough to secure a very early bid for this detached house on Quarry Road in Youghal.

Not yet reaching the asking price of €380,000, the bid came within days of the property going on the market earlier this month and selling agents Sherry FitzGerald Hennessy says that interest since has been very good “We’ve had viewings by local families looking to trade up and we are getting enquiries from overseas,” says auctioneer Fiona Hennessy.

The design, which includes a front balcony and a basement with an integral garage, is a little unusual and probably has some American influence. This is explained by the fact that it was built in the late 1990s by an American woman and her Irish husband.
