Trading Up: Montenotte, Cork, €220,000

Three neatly goes into one at Rosemount, a three-story building divvied up into three apartments, at Cork’s Montenotte, for sale with an appeal to investors, primarily, but also to possible owner-occupiers.

Trading Up: Montenotte, Cork, €220,000

The south-facing property is set between the Middle Glanmire Road and the Montenotte Road, just below the Clifton Convalescent Home (currently also for sale) with garden and off-street parking for three cars.

It’s guided at €220,000 by estate agent Michael O’Donovan of Savills, and is under offer below 200k; he says it was redeveloped within the original, thick stone walls of a 19th century building, around the 1980s.

But, now, no matter who buys, it needs work, whether doing up for rental, or converting back to a private family home.

There’s little of the original finery here, but the location, aspect and size all give it the “potential” edge.

Right now, each of the three floors is home to a kitchen/living room, three bedrooms and a bathroom, and two of the three share an access.

Rosemount has gas central heating, and mains services, and the fact of having parking is real bonus, both during reconstruction and once “in residence” — as the residents might say, in Montenotte.

VERDICT: Bring your imagination to bear
