Water frontage makes Ravensdale in Bantry a good catch

THERE’S access to a wonderful West Cork lake or lagoon called Ballydonegan, three miles out along the coast from Bantry town, from this property.

Ravensdale is a detached, over-basement 3,000 sq ft home on an acre of sloping ground dropping down from the residence to the water’s edge, and thence to Bantry Bay itself.

Ravensdale is listed for sale with estate agent Michéal Duggan of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill, who guides the house at €445,000, having listed it in August.

It’s an adaptable home in good condition, and at present it has four bedrooms, with one en suite, and two guest WC, but he adds there’s potential to add two more bedrooms in a house section with independent access. Air BnB, or EireBnB, anyone?

Set on a slope and sort of in a cluster grouping with a garage, it has a lower basement level suitable for storage, and has wood floors in its living room, with southerly aspect, and there’s an arch linking to a dining room and another arch to the fitted kitchen.

Ravensdale’s location is sort of along Bantry’s ‘Golden Mile(s)’ of road toward Ballylickey and Glengarriff beyond, is just beneath the N71, and is about 60 miles from Cork city and airport.
