A West Cork farmer, businessman and developer has just acquired the three, completed high-end buildings in the Waterfront development, in an off-market deal (likely to be sub €1m) with sources saying he plans to open a whiskey distillery business and visitor centre there.

The high-profile contemporary buildings include several apartments,one was previous occupied by a gaelscoil, and all are to be marketed by estate agent Martin Kelleher.
