Trading up: Ardbrack Heights, Kinsale €300,000

THERE aren’t too many places in Cork where a one-bed apartment is priced at €300,000 - but, a spot like Ardbrack Heights in Kinsale is one of a very few such exclusive settings.

Built in one of the first blocks of this long, hillside sprawl of one, two and three beds and duplexes, No 2 is one of the smaller, more niche offers in this 1980s development, which was nicknamed Heineken Heights years ago, as its pension fund developers at the time were Dutch.

The intervening decades have softened much of the dismay at the scale of this development, now softened somewhat too by some landscaping, further development on the hill, and colour changes across the serried and tiered row of blocks.
