Hot auction action in Dublin and Cork

A HEATWAVE was promised for this week - but, as much heat will be generated by a flurry of auction action.

Hot auction action in Dublin and Cork

Among those bringing multiple lots and multi-let residential investments to auction in July are Allsop, in Dublin, along with IAMSold/Munster Property Auction, and DNG Creedon, in Cork.

First up is the July 9 IAM Sold sale of 11 houses at An Graig, Inch, Co Kerry, for bids above €450,000, in partnership with Fitzgerald & Associates, Dingle. Also on offer are individual holiday homes in Ballybunion, Kerry, at €100/150,000, in partnership with Horgan Properties Listowel, and a five-bed home, with stables, on two acres at Woodstown, Waterford, for €299,950, in partnership with Property Partners Barry Herterich.

At the lower end of the scale is a one-acre site by Audley Cove, West Cork, and a modernist, 1960s home, the Lookout, Glengarriff, Co Cork, at bids from €69,950, in partnership with REA Celtic Property, Bantry.

Munster Property Auction director, Patrick Convey, says they are witnessing “continued demand for realistically priced property in both rural and urban locations.” Also listed for the July 9 sell-off is the Lion’s Den bar, at the city end of the Douglas Road by St Finbarr’s Hospital, for bids over €380,000, in partnership with Property Partners Matt Fallon. And, the same partnership is also selling the 4,000 sq ft, landmark Nancy Spain’s bar on Barrack Street, at bids over €450,000. The auction lots, including residential, span all six Munster counties and a furtherIAMSold auction is scheduled for October 1.

The lots range from multi-million euro investments to a former hospital and a waterfront hotel site in Munster. The derelict 25-bed Cametrigane Hotel, on two acres, in fishing and tourism port Castletownbere, West Cork, is priced at €160/180,000.
