There’s a bit of a surge in the trading up market at the moment, particularly for detached houses, says agent Robert O’Keeffe of Irish and European who has two properties on offer in the Tower/ Cloghroe area of greater Cork.

Both are quite close to each other and are good, detached options: one is a brand new four-bed at 3 Greenhills in Cloghroe, with an asking price of €425,000, the other, a four-bed house at Coolflugh, Tower, is guiding at €375,000.

Located within a short walk from each other and from Tower village, Robert O’Keeffe expects good interest and an early sale, he says.

The larger of the two properties, No 3 Greenhills is a spacious 2,170 sq ft newly -built houseon a site of close to a third of an acre.

Finished to a high spec, it has engineered oak flooring, a pressurised water system and white high gloss kitchen units with quartz worktops. With gas heating ,which is underfloor at ground level, the property has a cosy B2 energy rating.

To the rear there’s a spacious kitchen dining room (23’ by 11) with French doors and to the front, on either side of the entrance hallway, there’s a living room and lounge. The house also has a playroom /office, a wet room and a utility room.
