Trading up: Blarney, Cork €390,000

There are two faces or facades to the quality and deceptive family home called Aisling.

Trading up: Blarney, Cork €390,000

One has three arches, facing the road and entrance to its 0.4 acre site, the other to the back with facing extensions, shows just how big this single storey home has become.

A new listing with agent Jeremy Murphy Associates, Aisling is now an 1,800 sq ft four-bed home with two en suite bathrooms, plus lofty sun room, and lots of internal extras. Price guide is just shy of €400,000, at €390k.

It was built back in 1983, but was more recently taken in hand and improved; it now has a pumped hot water system for instant supply, a solid C1 BER, has a glossy cream Stanley wood-burning stove in one of its two living rooms, has an alarm, security cameras, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors — and even the Velux windows in the sun room have sensors to shut up shop if the rains come. When the sun shines, it’s part set up for solar panels.

Location is 10 minutes from Blarney out the Waterloo road and it really has to be viewed, Mr Murphy stresses.

It comes with sheltered areas between its two projecting extensions, and close by making for a nice sense of enclosure is a large, double-length detached garage.

VERDICT: Aisling has an understated quality, a good internal area, and a decent site as well.
