Open offices upgraded

TWENTY Years a Growing, or Fiche Bliain ag Fás, is a classic memoir of 20th century Irish literature — but, in the case of a Cork city office building, it’s more like a case of Five Years, and no Fás.

Open offices upgraded

The former State training and employment service Fás had moved in to the refurbished and recreated offices at 13-15 Cornmarket Street in the heart of Cork city centre in 2010, to a building redone as part of the Cornmarket Centre development by Killarney-based Ring O’Donoghue families.

Now, taking advantage of a five year break option in the lease, and following the disbanding of Fás, the building has been vacated, with new employment and training services moving to Solus/Education and Training Board, and to the new Intreo offices on Cork’s Georges Quay which opened last month in Abbeycourt House.
