Two of a kind in Kinsale

TWO big Kinsale offers come to market independently this week for receivers — one being 95 acres of spectacularly-sited land at Pregane, next to where a €200m golf resort development was proposed a decade ago.

Two of a kind in Kinsale

The land, on a headland with Atlantic and Oysterhaven views, is guided at €1.15 million by Cohalan Downing. It’s adjacent to where 270 acres assembled by a consortium for the Kinsale Harbour Resort, due to have an Ernie Els-designed course, sold to US tycoon Rick Goings, head of Tupperware, for a reported €3.465m in 2013.

After the hugely-ambitious ACC Bank-backed golf resort plans collapsed, lands here at Ballymacus and Pregane were, briefly looked at as a possible site for a new distillery by Grants, before they committed investment to the Midlands.
