Bridging the gap in Mahon’s office demand

Cork’s Mahon/Skehard suburb will soon have a new, €50m office development, in six blocks, — but, meanwhile, a smaller, 3,000 sq ft space is to let at Bridge House, Skehard Road, via estate agent Rob Coughlan, of Cohalan Downing.

It’s in a two storey, over-basement building with architectural cladding, and this central suite (of three) comes with six basement car-parking spaces, and surface-level parking.

A rent of €15 psf, or €45,000, pa, is sought for the central portion of space.

Elsewhere, construction on a third, major Mahon office scheme is expected to start shortly in the City Gate Plaza, to be built on the former MaCom site, near the CSO, which was bought last summer by John Cleary Developments, for €4m, via DTZ. In the last few weeks, planners granted permission for minor alteration and pedestrian links, clearing the way for construction on the 300,000 sq ft development to commence. Having completed two major office developments already in Mahon, JCD are now building offices in Cork City centre, at One Albert Quay, with BAM Construction.
