Options aplenty at Myrtleville

Usually, auctioneers selling a house of limited size might point to its scope for extension, and for adding a further bedroom or two.

Indeed, there are options aplenty here at Cooney’s Field, a few hundred yards up the fields from the beach and born-again Bunnyconnellan’s bar and restaurant at Myrtleville and near the Whispering Pines bar too.

There’s probably a couple of dozens home here at this Cooney’s Field address, most of them grown from chalets and shacks built in the post-WW2 era, here and at the adjacent O’Regan’s Field.

Andy Moore guides this compact offer at €95,000, noting it’s a short daily or summer commute from Cork City, about 12 miles away. It was upgraded about 25 years ago, is block built and has an attractive open plan sitting room with fireplace, kitchenette and shower room, with three bedrooms.

VERDICT: You could buy for under €100k and enjoy as-is, and consider upgrading and extending in time to come, as lots of the neighbour have.
