House sales up by 48% nationally

House sales are up 48% nationally, according to figures presented to the Oireachtas by IBEC-related lobby group, Property Industry Ireland.

Transactions from January to July of this year were 19,843, vs 13,895 for the same period in 2013, and were 11,836 in 2012.

Dublin house sales rose from 4,186 for the seven-month period in 2012 to 6,380 in 2014; Cork rose from 1,268 to 2,117; Limerick from 399 to 630. Similarly, Galway increased from 532 to 1,124 transactions.
