There’s a choice of two very similar four-bed detached family homes up at Cork’s Wyndgates, a section of the Maryborough Ridge development above Douglas village.
Arriving for sale within a week or two of one another are Nos 15 and 21 Wyndgates, each sizing up at 1,250sq ft and each guided at €395,000.
Just freshly painted up and with a well-landscaped south-facing back garden is No 21, with Trevor O’Sullivan of Coldwell Banker Carlton, who says the location is fantastic, by a private cul de sac, with alarm, gas heating, good built-ins, and cobble-lock front drive.
Very similarly specified is No 15, listed with Gillian McDonnell of Sherry FitzGerald, and it too has a cherrywood kitchen, two reception rooms, kitchen/diner with utility and a guest WC, and one of its four-beds is en suite.
Although detached, the houses aren’t overly large for four-beds of 1,250sq ft, and main reception rooms are just less than 12ft wide, while the main bedrooms in each are more slender again, at just under 10ft by 11ft.
Only a few comparable Wyndgates sales show up on the price register, one making €335,000 in 2010. Another had been priced at €560,000 in 2008 for its interior designer owner, it was brought down to €485,000 and eventually early in moribund and sluggish 2011 reduced again to €390,000, and sold later that year for €314,7000. Now, back with €395,000 asking prices, it seems Wyndgates prices are on the rebound.
