Planning Notes: Pharma plant seeks expansion approval

A major extension of facilities at a pharmaceutical plant near Cork harbour is the subject of a recent planning application.

The proposal was lodged earlier this month by Novartis Ringaskiddy Limited for its plant at Shanbally near Ringaskiddy. Cork County Council is being asked to give permission for a range of developments at the site, to include an 836-square metre two-storey training and development building, and a 582sq m equipment storage warehouse.

Two office buildings of two storeys, with a combined floor area of over 830sq m, each attached to one of two production buildings on the site are also planned. In two phases, a two-storey extension to an existing office building is also planned to include an additional 530sq m of office floor area.
